Our Morning Walks..

The weather has been absolutely beautiful in the mornings lately..Thank goodness! So Kylen and I have started to take a walks to get some exercise and sunshine. I wake up early to get everything ready ( it is amazing how you have to get ready for EVERYTHING when you have a little one) and then I go in to get Kylen up, changed and ready for the day. We walk to one of the parks close to our house. He loves to swing! Here are a few pictures we took this morning. 

Kylen is 8 months!

Our little man just keeps growing and growing! He is now 8 months. He still uses anything and everything to pull himself up to stand. Lately the kitchen has been extra appealing to him. He has learned to open the cabinets so this weekend they will be baby proofed. All four teeth are in on top and his fourth tooth is poking through on the bottom. His bites are now super painful and he loves to do it. Except when I yelp with pain, then it scares him and he goes into instant cry mode. He has been quite the mama's boy lately. He wants to be held all the time and is not happy when he is put down. I have to make sure there is something to entertain him when I set him down. Andrew and I bought him two walkers this weekend (can you say spoiled!). One he sits in and walks around. This one is tough for him because of our carpet. He has one at each of the grandma's (again, very spoiled) and they both have tile where he can cruise around easily. He is getting better on the carpet but he still gets frustrated. The other one we got is a walker where he can stand and hold on while learning to walk. He will walk with it for a few steps but then he falls to his knees and pushes it that way.  He is a quick learner so it shouldn't take him too much time till he figures out how to use it.

I was having trouble a few weeks ago getting him to eat. At first he would spit all his food out, then he went though really fussy stage and now he is doing better and eating most of his food. He is NOT a fan of the highchair. But he will just have to get used to it! I still can't get him to eat peas or green beans. I haven't tried in awhile so maybe it will be different now, hopefully. He still loves his Baby MumMums, thank goodness because they give mama a break! He also still likes his fresh food feeder. I put an apple slice in there today and he seemed to really like it. Everything I eat, he wants a bite of. Especially if it is fruit. I always let him try a little but which probably does not help the problem.

His giggles are to die for! Andrew talks like the Hulk (Hogan-I have no idea how it started) but Kylen thinks it is hilarious. He also loves when we make funny noises or say goofy things. He lets out these cute little chuckles. I absolutely love them.

We are still up once a night. I can't complain too much since he goes right back to sleep when I give him a bottle. He wakes up around 6:30am but I wait to get him till 7 still.Since the weather has been so nice, we have started taking morning walks to the park. Once we get to the park he swings and loves it. Lately he has only been taking one nap a day- not really sure I am happy about that. The one nap he takes is about 2.5 to 3 hours long. Last night he slept through the whole night. That means I didn't sleep since I was up every hour to make sure he was okay. I don't sleep if he doesn't and I don't sleep when he does.. I just can't win!

We are having so much fun watching Kylen grow. I can't believe how fast it has gone.

The Master Crawler!

Kylen has officially mastered crawling! Whoo hoo! He is constantly on the move. I miss when he used to cuddle with me but I love that he is so curious about everything. He does not like that I gated off our hallway which leads to the dogs' water dish. He bangs on the gate and looks at me with a sad face. He uses everything to stand up and seems to think that he can stand alone without holding onto someone or something.I used to hate our carpet but I am thankful we have it now because he loses his balance when he gets too daring. We had our first boo-boo yesterday. He was standing, holding on to our cubbie that holds baskets and he lost his balance and hit the edge of it :( He ended up having a meltdown after scraping his chin. I felt so bad because I was sitting right next to him. I know it won't be the last time considering his boyish braveness but I still feel horrible.

We are still waking up once at night but he sleeps in till 7:00 most mornings which is great. I am really anxious for the heat to subside because we are stuck in the house most of the day. When we do go out, it is just miserable and I feel bad for Kylen since he is still in his infant car seat which does not let allow him much air. He should be moving into a big boy car seat soon which I am excited about because carrying him around in the infant car seat it getting very heavy and uncomfortable!

He has 3 bottom teeth now and the top 4 are all coming in at the same time. I think his teething is the reason for his not eating very well. Not only does he think it is hilarious to spit out all his food and grab the spoon but he is also not wanting to eat like he used to. I am hopeful that it is a phase and his appetite will come back around. It has also turned into a fight to get him to sleep. He used to go down so easily but now he fights it like he never has before. Oh the challenges of motherhood..

I left for Disneyland today and I did not take Kylen which is very difficult. I had a few meltdowns and many tears but I know he will be okay. It is my grandmother's 80th birthday and she wanted to go to Disneyland so that is what we are doing. My grandmother, Aunt Chris, Danielle, Michelle, Tristyn and my mom are all going for 6 days. Kylen is staying home with dad and Nana since he is too young. I know he will have a ton of fun being spoiled by his grandparents.
